I MENTOR… I have had the honor, privilege and fun of mentoring for 25 years.  Friends often ask me what I love about mentoring.  Here are a few of my frequent responses.  Through the mentoring relationship you become a significant adult that is not parental but a neutral presence.  You enter their world and share their concerns, joys and accomplishments.   Most of my mentees have been with me for several years.  This has given me a front row seat to watch in awe and admiration, as a child’s gifts, talents and personalities unfold.  Mentoring nourishes the child that resides in each of us.  All of my mentees would agree that “my inner child” is always very present!  The following song title encapsulates my love of mentoring, “I love you more today than yesterday but not as much as tomorrow.
